PROCEDURES:

1) Jigsaw Technique: The class will be split into two groups of four. Each member will be assigned a separate piece of information. In their groups, students will study the piece of information through searching the internet. They will be given 15 minutes. After, an expert group will be formed where students of the same information will come together, to gather their research. They will learn more about their assigned task through each other. After 15 minutes, the students will go back to their original group, and discuss their findings.
The groups will present their findings, and further discussion on the culture significance of Jeepneys will be laid out. (10 minute report per group).
2) Focal Artwork Discussion: As a class, we will closely look at the designs of each Jeepney. From the common colors used, what is drawn onto the vehicle, and how they think the artists decorated the car.
3) Jeepney Project: An introduction of the main project will be introduced. A sample piece will be shown as a model, as well as the materials, and canvas they will work on. To help with themes, a list of topics will be given as choices such as: Filipino Animals, Filipino games, Filipino Food, Filipino Events, and Filipino Plants & Flowers. A challenge for them is that they are limited to the primary color palette, as that is primarily used for a lot of the Jeepneys.
4) Brainstorming: The groups will spend the rest of the class time to think about their idea while looking at their canvas. They are encouraged to delegate tasks, and create thumbnails on their sketchbook.
Day Two:
1) Painting: The class will set up their station with equipments they need, and will spend the rest of the class time to create their Jeepney design.
2) Closing: The groups will present their work, and explain how they conceptualized their idea.
